Repeat Prescriptions

Routine repeat prescriptions can be ordered in the following ways:

NHS App - Find out more about the NHS App at: www.nhs.uk/nhsapp
Accurx - Patients can submit repeat prescription requests via accurx
In person - hand your repeat slip in at reception having clearly marked the items required.
By post - send it to us with a stamped addressed envelope if you want us to post it back to you.

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.

Urgent Prescriptions

Requests for urgent prescriptions may be made by telephoning the surgery on 0300 79800 169 and will be ready to collect by 18:00 the same day.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Prescription Ordering Direct (POD) Service Closed

The Prescription Ordering Direct (POD) service has now closed.

You can no longer order repeat prescriptions using POD.

Please use one of the options below to order your repeat medicines.

The easiest way to order your repeat prescription is by using the NHS App.

Use a paper repeat slip

Tick the items you need on your repeat list.
Post it to us or drop it into the practice.

Order through your local pharmacy

Some pharmacies can order your repeat prescription for you.
Please speak to your pharmacy to check if they offer this service.

Please only order what you need

Before you order, check what medicines you have at home.

Only request the items you need.
This helps reduce waste and keeps medicines available for everyone.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

NHS charges

These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.

Prescription (per item): £9.65

12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £111.60

3-month PPC: £31.25

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 15 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
